The short version
- No account needed. You never sign up, so we don’t hold a profile on you.
- Your logs stay on your phone. Meals, water, weight and workouts are stored on your device.
- We never sell your data or use your health information for advertising.
- You can wipe everything at any time from Profile → Reset all data.
Who we are
myNutrical is published by myNutrical (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the myNutrical app and this website handle, why, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@mynutrical.app.
Information you give the app
To suggest a daily calorie target and macro split, the app asks for:
- your name or a nickname
- sex, date of birth, height and weight
- your goal weight and how fast you’d like to get there
- your activity level and eating style
As you use it, the app also keeps:
- the foods, meals and portions you log
- recipes you save or create, including any photos you add to them
- water, weight, workouts and steps
- your goals, units, reminders and display settings
Some of this is health information. We treat all of it as personal and private, whether or not the law where you live calls it sensitive.
Where your information is kept
Everything above is stored on your device, inside the app’s private storage. myNutrical has no accounts and no cloud sync, so we don’t receive or keep a copy on our servers.
If your phone backs itself up to iCloud or Google, that backup may include the app’s data. Apple and Google look after those backups under their own privacy policies, and you control them in your phone’s settings.
When the app goes online
Some features need an internet connection, such as looking up a product from its barcode. When you use one, the app sends only what that request needs, for example the barcode number. It doesn’t send your name, profile or history along with it.
Like any web server, the services that answer these requests may briefly record technical details such as your IP address and the time of the request, to keep them secure and working.
Camera, photos and notifications
- Camera. Used only while the scanner is open, to read barcodes and nutrition labels. The app doesn’t record video or save what the camera sees.
- Photos. The app only sees the pictures you choose, for example a photo for a recipe you create. They stay on your device.
- Notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your phone. You can change or turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings.
Apple Health
On iPhone you can choose to connect Apple Health, so myNutrical can read and write things like steps, workouts and weight. The app only touches the types of data you approve, and you can change that at any time in the Health app.
Information from Apple Health stays on your device. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with anyone else.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking pixels. Its fonts and images are served from our own server, not from third parties.
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for a short time to keep the site secure and running. The download page reads your browser’s user agent to send your phone to the right app store; it isn’t stored.
Children
myNutrical is not meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where you live. If you are under 18, please use it with the help of a parent or guardian, and talk to a doctor before changing what you eat.
Your choices and rights
Because your information lives on your device, you’re in control of it directly:
- see and change your details in Profile at any time
- delete everything with Profile → Reset all data, or by uninstalling the app
- turn camera, photo, notification and Apple Health access on or off in your phone’s settings
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR or California’s CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to how it’s used. We don’t hold a copy of your app data, but you can still contact us at support@mynutrical.app and we’ll answer within the time the law allows. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data on your phone is protected by your device’s own security, so we recommend keeping a passcode or biometric lock turned on. This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app or website handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
